Covid-19: 3 more patients die, 232 test positive in J&K | KNO

Total cases 118,495, death toll soars to 1,844; recovery rate over 95 percent in UT

Srinagar, Dec 17 (KNO): Jammu and Kashmir on Monday recorded three deaths due to COVID-19 taking the death toll to 1,844 in the Union Territory while 232 positive cases were reported taking the tally of positive cases to 118,495 in J&K. Of the exact number of 118,495 cases, 69,801 are from Kashmir and 48,694 from Jammu division. Officials told the news agency—Kashmir News Observer (KNO) that among 232 new cases, 103 belong to Kashmir division while as 129 are from Jammu division, adding that the total number of positive cases in Kashmir division have reached to 69,801 including 66,754 recoveries and 1,168 deaths while as total number of positive cases in Jammu division have reached to 48,694 including 46,272 recoveries and 676 deaths. The officials said that total number of active cases in Jammu and Kashmir are 3,625 including 1,879 from Kashmir division and 1,746 from Jammu division. With 458 more recoveries, the tally of total recoveries in Jammu and Kashmir has reached to 113,026 which is 95.38 percent of the total cases. “Cases tested positive in J&K include 36 from Srinagar, 09 from Baramulla, 10 from Budgam, 15 from Kupwara, 18 from Pulwama, 04 from Anantnag, 00 from Bandipora, 05 from Ganderbal, 02 from Kulgam and 04 from Shopian in Kashmir division while as 129 from Jammu division include 97 from Jammu, 08 from Udhampur, 02 from Rajouri, 02 from Doda, 09 from Kathua, 00 from Kishtwar, 02 from Samba, 03 from Poonch, 00 from Ramban and 06 from Reasi," officials disclosed. Notably, in the last 24 hours three persons who were tested positive for COVID-19 have died, among them two belong to Kashmir division and one to Jammu division. As per media bulletin, patients who have died include one each from Srinagar and Ganderbal in Kashmir division and one from Jammu district in Jammu division. As per officials figures, 24,752 positive cases including 443 deaths and 23,642 recoveries are from Srinagar, 7,852 including 170 deaths and 7,511 recoveries are from Baramulla, 7,432 including 7,140 recoveries and 106 deaths are from Budgam, 5,455 including 5,206 recoveries and 88 deaths are from Kupwara, 5,428 including 88 deaths and 5,150 recoveries are from Pulwama, 4,744 including 4,535 recoveries and 82 deaths are from Anantnag, 4,610 cases including 4,458 and 58 deaths are from Bandipora, 4,427 including 4,251 recoveries and 43 deaths are from Ganderbal, 2,640 including 2,524 recoveries and 53 deaths are from Kulgam and 2,461 including 2,337 recoveries and 37 deaths are from Shopian. In Jammu division, 22,952 including 21,825 recoveries and 344 deaths are from Jammu district, 4,023 including 3,821 recoveries and 57 deaths are from Udhampur, 3,777 including 3,499 recoveries and 54 deaths are from Rajouri, 3,342 including 3,193 recoveries and 60 deaths are from Doda, 3,114 including 2,976 recoveries and 48 deaths are from Kathua, 2,704 including 2,597 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Kishtwar, 2,681 including 2,429 recoveries and 36 deaths are from Samba, 2,434 including 2,385 recoveries and 22 deaths are from Poonch, 2,072 including 2,011 recoveries and 21 deaths are from Ramban and 1,595 including 1,536 recoveries and 13 deaths are from Reasi. As per the daily information bulletin, 849,799 persons in Jammu and Kashmir are under observation while 20,628 persons have been kept under home quarantine besides that 3,625 persons are in isolation. According to the bulletin, 796,010 persons have completed surveillance period and 27,692 persons are under home surveillance besides that so far results of 3,551,273 samples are available. Out of 3,551,273 the number of samples tested negative stands at 3,432,778 while as 118,495 have tested positive, among them 3,625 persons are active, 113,026 persons have recovered and 1,844 persons have died—(KNO)
